REMARKS: name that Rondani (1874a: 231) proposed as synonym of Leopoldius diadematus Rondani, 1845 and not made available by use as a valid species before 1961. It is not included in Becker (1905), Chvála & Smith (1988), O’Hara et al. (2011), or Stuke (2017). Rondani listed this nominal species under the generic name “ Brachyglossum ”, which is an incorrect subsequent spelling of Brachiglossum Rondani, 1856 or subsequent usage of Brachyglossum Bigot, 1858 . Rondani (1856: 56) proposed the substitute genus name Brachiglossum for Leopoldius Rondani, 1843 without any explanation. The genus name Brachyglossum is an incorrect emendation of Brachiglossum Rondani, 1856 introduced by Bigot (1858: 592).
