ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION: 1878a: 151.

TYPE LOCALITY: “ prope Bataviam, in Insula Java [near Jakarta, on Java Island ]” .

TYPE MATERIAL: 1 ♂, holotype ( MSNG): Buitenzorg, 1877, P. M. Ferrari / Typus / Nycteribia ferrarii Rnd. / ferrarii Rndn. / Cyclopodia ferrarii Rnd. / Cyclopodia ferrarii Rndn. , Typus! / Cyclopodia ferrari [sic!] Rondani, Type.

CURRENT STATUS: valid species, as Leptocyclopodia ferrarii ( Maa 1977b: 421) View in CoL .

REMARKS: Rondani (1878a: 151) described Nycteribia ferrarii , from a single specimen: “ Unicum exemplar … vidi … inventum a Cl. J. B. Ferrari [I saw a single specimen … found by Mr. J. B. Ferrari]”. Guiglia (1957: 195) and Raineri & Rey (1996: 45) reported the holotype (♂) in the MSNG.
