ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION: 1866d: 45 [1867b: 129].
TYPE LOCALITY: “ Insubria [= Lombardy ( Italy)]” .
TYPE MATERIAL: 1 ♂, holotype (missing right hind-leg) ( MZUF: Box 28): Leria Desv. / diversa Rnd., Insubr. [= Insubria] / 1474.
CURRENT STATUS: junior synonym of Heteromyza atricornis (Meigen, 1830) ( Gorodkov 1984b: 43) .
REMARKS: Rondani (1866d: 45) described Thelida diversa from a single male: “ Unicum exemplar possideo [I have a single specimen]” received from G. De Cristoforis, publishing the species first in a separate (1866b) and then in the journal version (1867b).
