ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION: 1866a: 122.

TYPE LOCALITY: “ in collibus agri parmensis [ Parmese hills ( Italy)]” .

TYPE MATERIAL: 2 ♂♂, syntypes (one missing head and left fore-leg, the other missing fore- and mid-legs), 1 ♀, syntype (missing mid-legs) ( MZUF: Box 25): Piezura Rndn. / pardalina Rnd. , Parma / 1328 .

CURRENT STATUS: junior synonym of Piezura graminicola (Zetterstedt, 1846) View in CoL ( Pont 1986a: 43, Gorodkov et al. 1995: 9); valid species (Pont 2002: 107).

REMARKS: Rondani (1866a: 122) described both sexes of Piezura pardalina without specifying the exact number of specimens and not giving a range of lengths. We found three syntypes in this study.
