ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION: 1875b: 174 (key), 176 (description).

TYPE LOCALITY: “ in agro parmensi [ Parmese territory ( Italy)]” .

TYPE MATERIAL: 1 ♀, syntype (missing left wing) ( MZUF: Box 35): Domomyza Rnd. / nigrella Rndn. / 1867.

CURRENT STATUS: valid species, as Agromyza nigrella View in CoL ( Papp 1984b: 268, Canzoneri et al. 1995: 9). The type species of the genus Domomyza Rondani, 1856 ( Domomyza cincta ) belongs to Drosophilidae View in CoL , not Agromyzidae View in CoL (see note on this nominal species, p. 108).

REMARKS: Rondani (1875b: 176) described Domomyza nigrella without specifying either the number or the sex of the specimens, but giving a single measurement of length. One syntype was found in this study.
