ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION: 1875b: 173 (key), 175 (description).

TYPE LOCALITY: “ in agro parmensi [ Parmese territory ( Italy)]” .

TYPE MATERIAL: 1 ♂, syntype (very dirty), 3 ♀♀, syntypes ( MZUF: Box 35): Domomyza Rnd. / luteitarsis Rnd. / 1873; 1 ♀, syntype (missing right wing) ( MZUB: Box 339): 28 41 / Agromyza luteitarsis Rond. , ex a. parmensi / luteitarsis Rndn. , Parma.

CURRENT STATUS: valid species, as Agromyza luteitarsis View in CoL ( Papp 1984b: 267, Canzoneri et al. 1995: 9). The type species of the genus Domomyza Rondani, 1856 ( Domomyza cincta ) belongs to Drosophilidae View in CoL , not Agromyzidae View in CoL (see note on this nominal species, p. 108).

REMARKS: Rondani (1875b: 175) described Domomyza luteitarsis without specifying either the number or the sex of the specimens, but giving a single measurement of length, but presumably from more than one specimen because he wrote: “ non rara [not rare]”. Five syntypes were found in this study.
