ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION: 1877c: 201 (key), 218 (description).
TYPE LOCALITY: “ in montuosis agri parmensis [ Parmese mountains ( Italy)]” .
TYPE MATERIAL: 1 ♂, holotype ( MZUF: Box 23): Chorthophila [sic!] Mcq. / pilosella n. / 1220.
CURRENT STATUS: junior synonym of Paradelia intersecta ( Meigen, 1826) View in CoL ( Dely-Draskovits 1993: 74, Gorodkov et al. 1995: 7).
REMARKS: Rondani (1877c: 218) described Chortophila pilosella from just the male sex, without specifying the exact number of specimens, but giving a single measurement of length: “ Mas tantum raro lectus [The male collected only rarely]”. Hennig (1972: 437) reported the holotype in the MZUF.
