Anthomyia dedecorata Rondani, 1866 View in CoL
ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION: 1866a: 145 (key), 148 (description).
TYPE LOCALITY: “ in collibus agri parmensis [ Parmese hills ( Italy)]” .
TYPE MATERIAL: 1 ♂, syntype ( MZUF: Box 26): Anthomyia Mgn / decorata Rnd. , ♂, Parma. / 1371.
CURRENT STATUS: valid species, as Calythea dedecorata View in CoL ( Dely-Draskovits 1993: 32, Gorodkov et al. 1995: 5).
REMARKS: Rondani (1866a: 148) described Anthomyia dedecorata from at least two males: “ Bis tantum marem inveni [I collected the male only twice]”. We found just one male in the MZUF, as did Hennig (1967c: 198), the latter who incorrectly considered it as the holotype but did not explicitly select a particular specimen from the type series to serve as the name-bearing type and therefore did not publish a lectotype designation (I.C.Z.N. 1999: Article 74.5).
