ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION: 1875c: 452.

TYPE LOCALITY: “ Insula Bonae Fortunae (Borneo) , Provincia Sarawak [ Bona Fortuna Island , Sarawak Province, Borneo]” ( Rondani 1875c: 421) .

TYPE MATERIAL: 1 ♀, holotype ( MSNG): Borneo, Sarawak, 1865/1866, Coll. Doria / typus / albopilosa Rond. / Trupanea albopilosa n° 55 (bis).

CURRENT STATUS: junior primary homonym of Trupanea albopilosa Macquart, 1855 and senior synonym of Promachus rondanii Oldroyd, 1975 ( Oldroyd 1975: 154) View in CoL .

REMARKS: Rondani (1875c: 452) described Trupanea albopilosa from just the female sex, without specifying either the number or the length of the specimens, from material collected by G. Doria and O. Beccari. Guiglia (1957: 197) reported the holotype (♀) in the MSNG. Raineri & Rey (1996) did not list this nominal species.
