Figs 305, 306 View FIGURES 298 – 306. 298 – 301 , 334 View FIGURES 331 – 338

Description. General: ( Figs 305, 306 View FIGURES 298 – 306. 298 – 301 ) Body length 3.5mm. Arista pubescent. M1+2 ratio 4.6. First flagellomere broadly ovate, enlarged dorsally and ventrally. Male unknown.

Chaetotaxy: Three fronto-orbital setae, slightly decreasing in length anteriorly. Ocellar seta approximately as long as second fronto-orbital; postvertical seta absent. Interfrontal seta minute. First flagellomere along distal margin with hairs longer than width of base of arista. Anterior dorsocentral 2/3 length of posterior seta; closely set posteriorly. Acrostichal seta present. One lateral scutellar seta.

Colour: Setae yellow. Head mostly yellow (whitish below level of antenna); first flagellomere with brown dorsobasal stripe; ocellar tubercle brown; inner margin of parafacial and ventral margin of gena shiny orange; gena and postgena silvery tomentose. Notum yellow with one pair of thin, floating, curved postsutural stripes along intra-alar row; scutellum with faded brown spot near lateral corner. Pleuron and legs yellow with central dark brown spot on anepisternum. Wing clear. Halter white. Abdomen yellow with wide central stripe on tergites 2–5 (narrowing anteriorly on each tergite).

Female terminalia: ( Fig. 334 View FIGURES 331 – 338 ) Sternite 6 slightly wider than long, with irregular transverse row of setae. Sternite 7 longer than wide. Ventral receptacle broad, not recurved, and with minute transverse wrinkles at base; subterminal flagellum short and thin. Spermatheca spherical, very lightly pigmented, and with numerous minute basal spots.

Etymology: The specific epithet is from the Latin for “slender” (gracilis), in reference to the shape of the diagnostic scutal stripes.

Distribution: Malaysia (Pahang).

Holotype: MALAYSIA. W. Malaysia, Pahang, A.E. Stubbs, BMNH 1974-87, Bukit Tinggi forest, 1300m, 26.xii.1972 (1♀, BMNH).

Comments: Allometopon gracile is here described on the basis of a lone female due its long ocellar seta and distinct colouration, being almost entirely yellow with a single spot on the anepisternum and a pair of thin curved stripes along the intra-alar row (not the dorsocentral) that are mirrored by one pair of minute brown spots in the lateral corners of the scutellum.
