Figs 325, 326

Description. General: (Figs 325, 326) Body length 3.7–4.1mm. Arista long pubescent. M1+2 ratio 2.8–2.9. First flagellomere relatively high with venter bulging. Male unknown.

Chaetotaxy: Three fronto-orbital setae, slightly decreasing in length anteriorly. Ocellar seta twice length of ocellar tubercle. Postvertical seta absent. Interfrontal seta small. First flagellomere along distal margin with hairs longer than width of base of arista. Anterior dorsocentral half length of posterior dorsocentral; closely set posteriorly. Acrostichal seta well-developed. One lateral scutellar seta.

Colour: Setae brown, paler on legs and pleuron. Head yellow, yellowish-white below antenna excluding face and mouthparts; dorsal half of first flagellomere dark brown; ocellar tubercle dark brown; posterolateral corner of frons with dark brown stripe along eye enclosing bases of vertical setae and posterior fronto-orbital; back of head with one pair of stripes radiating from foramen; parafacial, gena and postgena silvery tomentose. Notum yellow in ground colour; scutum with one pair of complete dorsocentral stripes that are very wide postsuturally and narrowed anteriorly, widening again at anterior margin; narrow brown stripe extending anteriorly along margin from dorsocentral stripe to supra-alar region, widening laterally, and not extending onto venter of postpronotum or anterior region of notopleuron. Scutellum brown with narrow medial yellow stripe expanding apically. Metanotum yellow with mediotergite and posterodorsal corner of anatergite brown. Pleuron and legs light yellow. Halter yellow. Wing dusky, clearer posterior to vein M. Abdomen yellow with tergites1–5 brown with lateral margin yellow, tergite 6 with brown dorsal stripe and tergite 7 brown with anterolateral corner yellow.

Variation: Sulawesi female differs in having the pigment along the anterior margin of the first flagellomere faded, the ocellar tubercle surrounded by a small brown triangular spot, and the scutellum entirely brown.

Female terminalia: Not dissected.

Distribution: Indonesia (Sulawesi), Papua New Guinea.

Material examined: INDONESIA. Sulawesi Utara, Dumoga-Bone N.P., Project Wallace, Rentice 3 nr base camp, 3.xii.1985, B.R. Pitkin (1♀, BMNH). PAPUA NEW GUINEA. Central Province: Aroa R., Aroana Estate, 30.xi.1963, D.K. McAlpine (1♀, AMSA).

Comments: The chaetotaxy and the cephalic and notal pattern of these females are similar to the males of Allometopon conopeum ( Figs 40–43 View FIGURES 40 – 46 ), but the notal pattern of the females is darker and more expansive.
