DISTRIBUTION: Namibia; S.W. desert region of Angola.

COMMENT: Subgenus Geosciurus ; see Ellerman, 1940:422, and Amtmann, 1975, Part 6.1:2. Moore, 1959, Bull. Am. Mus. Nat. Hist., 118:153-206, considered Geosciurus a distinct genus.
