TYPE LOCALITY: Mexico, Chihuahua, Sierra Madre, near Guadalupe y Calvo, 7000 ft. (2134 m) .

DISTRIBUTION: S.W. Chihuahua ( Mexico).

COMMENT: Subgenus Callospermophilus ; see Hall, 1981:410. Gromov et al., 1965: 150, considered Callospermophilus a subgenus of the genus Otospermophilus .
