Type Locality: South Africa, Eastern Cape Prov., Pondoland, Ngqeleni Dist.
Vernacular Names: Swinny's Horseshoe Bat.
Synonyms: Rhinolophus piriensis Hewitt 1913 ; Rhinolophus rhodesiae Roberts 1946 .
Distribution: South Africa, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Malawi, Zambia, S Dem. Rep. Congo, Tanzania, Zanzibar.
Conservation: IUCN 2003 and IUCN / SSC Action Plan (2001) – Lower Risk (lc).
Discussion: capensis species group. Possibly a subspecies of denti ( Koopman, 1993) . See Taylor (2000 a) for distribution map.
