Aplidium cf. californicum

IHAK 22 BHAK 1681. Mercury Islet, Scuba, 5–15 m. Tan and brown large egg-shaped (rounded, oval) colony about 5 cm thick with reticulate pattern on surface .

IHAK 42 BHAK 1714. UF 2527 Starfish Rocky Reef, ~ 18 m, Scuba. Brown and tan cushion, milky white inside, 2.5 cm across × 1.5 cm thick.

IHAK 42 BHAK 1715. UF 2528 Tan large cushion 8.3 cm across × 3.5 cm thick.

These colonies are apparently just color variants of A. californicum ; there do not appear to be any other morphological distinguishing characters. DNA sequence data will test whether they are distinct.
