Aulostomus chinensis (Linné, 1766) —Chinese trumpetfish
STATUS AT MADANG. First record from Madang by Munro (1958: 140). Specimens observed and photographed at St. CTR 20, CTR 31, CTR 34. KFRS material.
DISTRIBUTION AND HABITAT. South and East Africa east to Panama, north to southern Japan and Ogasawara, Hawaiian, Johnston and Easter islands, south to Western Australia at 31°52'S, Lord Howe and Kermadec islands, and Rapa. Found in coral and rocky reefs, at depths of 2– 122 m. Marine.
