Phanoperla wieng Sivec & Stark, 2010 View in CoL
( Fig. 6 View FIGURE 6 )
Phanoperla wieng Sivec & Stark, 2010: 109 View in CoL View Cited Treatment . (Original description of the male).
Material examined. 1 male ( ICZAS), China: Yunnan Province, Mengyang town , 1957. IX. 3, N 24.54°, E 98.27°, 1000m, Shuyong Wang leg., sweep net GoogleMaps .
Distribution. This species was originally described from Thailand. This above male specimen represents the first record from China.
Diagnosis. Phanoperla wieng is characterized by the aedeagal sac bearing at least one complete subapical ring of large hooks, a mesoventral circle of hooks, and a prominent membranous dorsomedial hump.
Remarks. The head pattern ( Fig. 6a View FIGURE 6 ), terminalia ( Fig. 6b View FIGURE 6 ), venation of forewing, and aedeagal outline along with the main armatures ( Figs. 6c–d View FIGURE 6 ) are identical with the description and figures of Stark & Sivec (2010). However, in this adult male, one of the double rings of hooks is incomplete and the spines between the incomplete mesoventral circle of hooks are arranged in a triangular patch of one to three rows. But these differences can be considered as intraspecific, as in the case of some Perlinae species, e.g., Neoperla leigongshana Du & Wang, 2007 (see figs. 7–8 in Mo et al. 2021b), Neoperla limushana Mo, Wang & Li, 2021 (see figs. 2–3 in Mo et al. 2021c) and Neoperlops gressitti Banks, 1939 (see figs. 2a, 2c–f in Mo et al. 2020).
