Type locality. Bangladesh: Dhaka, coll. M. S. Stevens.

Type depository. MNHN .

Specimen examined (n=1). Syntype labelled “‘Deccan’, coll. Stevens, ‘ suturiger ’ Chaudoir, ‘ limbellus’ Chaudoir”.

Description. Length 4.5–5.0 mm. Head, pronotum, sutural line, base of elytra and antennal segments 3–11 reddish brown; antennal segments 1–2, palpi and legs reddish yellow; elytra brownish black.

Head stout, as long as wide, smooth, glabrous; frontal foveae clear, moderately deep; eyes protruding; antennae short, stout, not reaching the middle of the elytra, antennal apical segment longest, segment 3 shorter than segment 1 and 2 combined.

Pronotum as wide as long, punctated, pubescent; disc with apical and basal margins straight, lateral portion of apical margin slightly projecting forward; disc laterally with anterior 2/3rd convex, posterior 1/3rd divergent, hind angle blunt, obtuse, projecting laterally; median groove faint, superficial; lateral bead very narrow, dark brown.

Elytra convex, base narrow, humerus straight, corners rounded, narrow, pubescent with closely placed setae; apex with a very faint re-entrant angle, having a membranous border; scutellum very small; lateral margin of disc lined with a flat, reddish yellow bead which increases in width towards apex; very weak striations; sutural colour extending to the apex, broadest at base, extending between first and third striae, gradually narrowed towards apex.

Distribution. INDIA: Assam; Bengal: Kolkata; Odisha: Puri; Maharashtra: Bandra; Tamil Nadu: Thiruchirapalli. SRI LANKA: Murunkan. BANGLADESH: Dhaka. MYANMAR: Rangoon, Senmigion, Palon, Magwe. PAKISTAN ( Hrdlička 2003, 2017).
