Diagnosis. Frons dichoptic in both sexes, broader in female; arista short, with the dorsal plumes longer and sparser than the ventral ones; dorsocentral setae 2+4; prealar seta present; postalar wall setulose or bare; katepisternals 1:2; metathoracic spiracle large, with no setae on margins; hind tibia with a short calcar.
Comments. Pont (1974) revised the genus and recorded it for the first time from Vanuatu.
