Diagnosis. Male dichoptic; posterior eye-margin emarginate in upper half; frons parallel-sided, longer than wide; prestomal teeth well-developed; upper frontal seta placed closer to lower frontal seta than to lower orbital seta; ocellar setae at most short, hair-like; 2 pairs of long presutural dorsocentrals; katepisternals 1:1:1, arranged in an equilateral triangle, the anterior one the weakest of the three; both pairs of scutellar setae well developed; wing veins bare; fore tibia without a submedian posteroventral seta; hind tibia with a supramedian posterodorsal and anterodorsal seta, a strong median anterodorsal and a submedian anteroventral; abdomen of male lanceolate.
Comments. Four species are known to occur in the Australasian and Oceanian Regions. The genus is recorded for the first time from Vanuatu.
