19. Myospila novaehebudae Vockeroth View in CoL
Myospila novaehebudae Vockeroth, 1972: 106 View in CoL . Holotype male, limestone plateau N of Maat , Éfaté, Vanuatu (as New Hebrides), in BPBM.
Diagnosis. Male: scutum reddish-yellow, except for a dark brown prescutellar area among the two dorsocentral rows of setae and from second postsutural dorsocentral almost to scutellum; abdomen yellow basally; tergite 3 with a broad posterior black triangular spot, which reaches the anterior margin medially; tergite 4 dark brown; tergite 5 dark brown with a narrow posterior margin reddish. Female scutum entirely reddish-yellow, very weakly pollinose; abdomen reddish-yellow shining, tergite 4 with a large dark brown triangular spot or entirely dark brown; base of tergite 5 and part of tergite 3 sometimes also dark brown.

BPBM: Vanuatu: Espiritu Santo: SW, Tasmalum , 3 m, 4.ix.1957, 4 ♀ paratypes, ex fresh human excrement, J.L. Gressitt; Narango, 90 m, vii.1960, 1 ♀, W.W. Brandt .
Comments. Endemic. According to Vockeroth (1972), both male and female are morphologically similar to M. aureorufa Vockeroth from Bougainville Island and differ mainly in their colour patterns.
