Hermann 2: 67, No. 146 ( BM 000621733: image!; isolectotype BM 000621734: image!). Epitype (designated here):— SRI LANKA, Above Belihuloya, 10 May 1969, A. J. G. H. Kostermans 23429 ( L, herbarium registration no. 1802766: image!).

Note:—It may be mentioned that the correct name applicable for the element Cinnamomum cassia sensu D. Don (1825: 67) , non ( L.) D. Don, treated in the Flora of China ( Li et al. 2008) as Cinnamomum cassia ( L.) D. Don will be the next available legitimate name Cinnamomum aromaticum Nees (1831: 74) .
