Distribution in Iran. West Azarbaijan ( Samin et al. 2011).
General distribution. North and Central Europe, extending East to Turkey, Western Siberia and Kazakhstan. Biology. This species breeds in the twigs and small branches of conifers in the family Pinaceae ( Abies , Larix , Picea , Pinus ). Pfeffer (1976) considers it a boreal species with a distribution coincident with that of its main host, Picea obovata . The biology of the genus is summarised by Smith and Hulcr (2015), and of the species by Stark (1952) and Pfeffer (1976).
