Pteleobius kraatzii (Eichhoff, 1864)

Distribution in Iran. West Azarbaijan ( Samin et al. 2011).

General distribution. Europe, Canary Is., Algeria, Turkey.

Biology. This species breeds in Ulmus (Ulmaceae) , rarely in Sorbus (Rosaceae) , attacking both the trunk and smaller branches ( Balachowsky 1949; Stark 1952; Pfeffer 1995). The gallery system is described by Balachowsky (1949) and Stark (1952). The species plays a minor role in the transmission of Dutch elm disease ( Maksimovic 1979; Şengonca & Leisse 1984).
