Diagnosis

Characterised by the following combination of characters: body (including antennae and legs) entirely black; frontal shield in both sexes relatively long, pointed just above antennal bases, rounded dorsally and laterally and coarsely rugose in female ( Figure 15 View Figure 15 (a)), rounded dorsally, and angulated apico-laterally, densely punctate in male ( Figure 15 View Figure 15 (b)); scutum and mesopleuron finely, superficially punctate ( Figure 15 View Figure 15 (d)); dorsal enclosure of propodeum coarsely rugose ( Figure 15 View Figure 15 (c)); first gastral segment relatively long in both sexes ( Figure 15 View Figure 15 (e,f)); S 8 in male completely resembles that of Figure 10 View Figure 10 of Antropov (2011, p. 615).

Comments

This species fully agrees with Antropov’s diagnosis (2011), as well as his key to scutatum - species group (couplet 3, p. 616).

2 ♀, 2 ♂, Jazan (Damad), 17º08 ʹ 05.1 ʺ N 42º45 ʺ 58.8 ʺ E, 20–25.xii.2020, on Moringa oleifera Lam. (Moringaceae) [Malaise trap], leg. Usama Abu El-Ghiet.
