Type species. Honduriella maxima View in CoL Denmark & Evans, 1999, in Denmark et al., 1999: 21. Main distinguishing characteristics. Dorsal shield mostly smooth. Idiosomal setal pattern 10A:9B/JV-3:ZV; setae s4, Z4 and Z5 the longest; j1 distinctly shorter and other setae much shorter; r3 much longer than R1; ratio s4 / S2>3.0. Sternal shield elongate or subquadrate; ventral shield reduced to a plate or a pair of remnant platelets bearing pre-anal pores; anal shield ovate. Spermathecal calyx cup-shaped. Fixed cheliceral digit with 17–19 teeth and movable digit with 3–7 teeth. Macrosetae present on legs I–IV, sharp-tipped. Male unknown.

Remarks. One of the two species presently included in this genus has been reported from Brazil, only from the Amazonas state, suggesting the genus to be well adapted to tropical America. Both species have been reported only from plants.
