Specimens measured. SP (2; our measurements of the holotype, and measurements of one paratype provided by Moraes et al., 2013, the latter in square brackets).
Dorsal shield of female smooth, 420 long and 297 wide. Setal lengths: j1 31 [42], j3 54[52], j4 6 [4], j5 5 [5], j6 10 [7], J2 9 [8], J5 7 [10], z2 13 [14], z4 12 [14], z5 6 [6], Z1 broken [11], Z4 121 [150], Z5 214 [300], s4 93 [120], S2 14 [15], S4 13 [13], S5 12 [14], r3 19 [16] and R1 not visible [12]. Peritreme extending to level of j1. Distances between st1–st3 79 [77], st2–st2 87 [80], st5–st5 78 [87]. Ventrianal shield 149 [147] long, 92 [85] wide at level of Zv2 and 95 [95] at anus level. Spermathecal calyx cup-shaped, 8 [8] long; atrium nodular. Fixed cheliceral 48 long, with fifteen teeth; movable digit 50 long, with five teeth (measurements of the paratype; chelicerae of the holotype was not properly visible). Macrosetae of legs I–IV, all sharp-tipped; SgeI 37 [50], SgeII 40 [42], StiII 27, SgeIII 50 [50], StiIII 33 [42], SgeIV 104 [125], StiIV 79 [100] and StIV 83 [85] .
Distribution in Brazil. Rio Grande do Sul ( Silva et al., 2020) and São Paulo (Castro & Moraes, 2010; Moraes et al., 2013).
Distribution elsewhere. El Salvador.
Remarks. Species described from Brazil. Our measurements of the holotype showed that SgeIV, StiIV and StIV are 1.6–1.7 times longer than mentioned in the original description of the species. The main differences between the holotype and the paratype were found on the length of j1, Z4, Z5, s4, SgeIV and StiIV, 1.2–1.5 times longer in the paratype, while the dorsal shield of the latter is approximately similar in length to the holotype. Measurements of two females of A. pravus collected by Moraes et al. (2013) in the state of S„o Paulo are more similar to those of the paratype than to the holotype. Minor morphological differences are observed between A. chiapensis , A. impressus and A. pravus and, therefore, the possibility of these species be synonyms must be further examined in the future.
