Type species. Macrocaudus multisetatus Moraes, McMurtry & Mineiro, 2003: 49 View in CoL .

Main distinguishing characteristics. Dorsal shield reticulate. Idiosomal setal pattern 10A:12A/JV:ZV (J3, J4, Z3 and Jv3 present); seta R1 on or off dorsal shield; dorsal shield setae uniform in shape and lengths, including J5 and Z5. Sternal shield with st1 inserted in soft cuticle, in front of sternal shield, and posterior margin distinctly concave. Ventrianal shield shield-shaped, with four pairs of pre-anal setae (including Jv3). Spermathecal calyx about trumpet-shaped, inflate near atrium. Fixed and movable cheliceral digits with 11–12 and two teeth, respectively. Leg macrosetae absent; with two elongate setae on distitarsus IV (ad2 and pd3). Male ventrianal shield with seven pairs of pre-anal setae; spermadactyl T-shaped.

Remarks. This monospecific genus was described from Brazil. It is known only from the type specimens, reported from an aquatic plant.
