Distribution: Forested areas of Bolivia, Brazil (except the semiarid NE), Colombia, Ecuador, French Guiana, Guyana, Panama, Paraguay, E Peru, Surinam, Venezuela.

Conservation: CITES – Appendix I; IUCN – Vulnerable.

Discussion: Synonyms allocated according to Cabrera (1957) and Hall (1981).
