Holotype: HMN R3636.1 – 6 View Materials , atlas axis, and numerous cervical and dorsal vertebrae.
Type locality: Hills near Osterwald, Lower Saxony, Germany.
Etymology: ‘Ring lizard with large vertebrae’.
Geological range: Lower–upper Valanginian (campylotoxus–furcillata ammonite zones).
Geographical range: Hautes Alpes, France, and Lower Saxony, Germany.
Referred specimen: RNGHP 990201, dorsoventrally crushed skull, lacking occipital region.
