Luciola bicoloripes Pic 1927: 37 View in CoL . McDermott 1966: 100.
Type. Male. VIETNAM (as TONKIN). Labelled 1 . Type (hand written); 2. TYPE (red printed label); Luciola bicoloripes n. sp. (handwritten); 4. Locality label unclear (handwritten). ( MNHN).
Diagnosis. Having bipartite LO in V7; the only species in this genus having both bipartite LO in V7 and pale brown dorsal colouration.
Remarks. Tonkin (Vietnamese Bắc Kỳ) is the northernmost part of Viet Nam south of Yunnan Province in China and east of northern Laos. This species is not further distinguished here apart from the key to males. However it is reliably assigned here and was identified clearly in the collection of the MNHN by Ballantyne in 2013 as having bipartite LO in V7 and an asymmetrical abdominal T8.
