Acanthaspis fuscinervis Hsiao 1976: 80 View in CoL ; Hsiao & Ren 1981: 457; Ren 1987: 219; Maldonado-Capriles 1990: 386; Putshkov & Putshkov 1996: 186.
Redescription. Colouration. Body dark brown to blackish brown; eyes brown; two spots at external margins of ocelli reddish brown (sometimes disappeared); four subrounded spots on posterior pronotal lobe, basal corium and a V-shaped spot on corium red; ocelli, two annulations on each tibia, spots on apical portion of femur and fascia on apex of membrane, posterior halves of each connexival segment yellow; tarsus grayish yellow; setae golden ( Figs 79, 212 View FIGURES 212–215 ).
Structure. Medium sized. Rostrum, abdominal venter covered by short and long setae; pro- and mesofemora ventrally, abdominal apically, coxae and thochanters clothed with thick setae; head, pronotum, legs and apical spine of scutellum with long setae, venter of head with setae. Head oblong; transverse constriction behind eyes wider and lower than longitudinal depression between eyes; ocellar area globose, ocelli strongly prominent; mandibular plate between antennifers not produced; maxillary plate faintly swollen, apex rounded; gena flat; first visible rostral segment longer than second, reaching anterior margin of eye; first antennal segment curved laterad, slightly shorter than head; ventral outline of head straight in lateral view ( Figs 79, 80 View FIGURES 80–90 ). Collar processes tuberculiform; anterior pronotal lobe shorter than posterior; posterior pronotal lobe depressed in middle, irregularly sculptured, four spots on it arranged regularly, the submedian ones somewhat bigger, sublateral ones smaller; humeral angles cone-shaped and small, pointed posterolaterad; middle of pronotal posterior margin nearly straight. Scutellum margined with ridges laterally, concavely excavated in middle; apical spine long, half as long as main body of scutellum. Hemelytron surpassing abdominal apex. Profemur thick; fossula spongiosa about 0.5 times as long as tibia. Connexivum flat; paramere slender basally, apical half portion incrassate and curved, apex sharp ( Figs 84–86 View FIGURES 80–90 ); median process of pygophore short and blunt, apex round ( Figs 81–83 View FIGURES 80–90 ); basal plate thick, basal plate bridge slender ( Fig. 87 View FIGURES 80–90 ); pedicel short and thick; phallosoma anchor-shaped; dorsal phallothecal sclerite furcate, strongly sclerotized, apex sharp and produced dorsally; struts fused, reaching subapical portion of phallosoma; median endosomal process present, strongly sclerotized, apex sharp and produced dorsally ( Figs 88–90 View FIGURES 80–90 ). Female with eighth abdominal tergite broad horizontally, posterior margin nearly straight; ninth and tenth terga fused, obviously separated into three parts, lateral two parts swollen, central part quadrate and depressed; first valvifer narrow and broad, visible part of first valvula widely triangular, reaching edge of ninth and tenth terga; styloid invisible.
