Euxoa (Euxoa) segnilis ( Duponchel, 1836) View in CoL
Bionomics. FP: VII–VIII. Xerophilous species. Steppes.
Known localities. P: Pavlodar; AK: Tuz; B: Shonai; E: Zhartas.
Literature: Titov et al. (2017b).
Note. In the original description, the species name was spelled as ‘ Agrotis seliginis ’ ( Duponchel 1836: 211, pl. 19: fig. 6). However, in the ‘Errata et addenda’ chapter, the spelling was amended to ‘ Agrotis segnilis ’ [https://archive.org/details/histoirenaturell03goda/page/649/mode/1up?view=theater]. Although ‘Errata et addenda’ was published a few years later, it is a part of the same volume and, following the ICZN (1999) Article 32.5.1, it has to be accepted as clear evidence of an inadvertent error and therefore the corrected name segnilis should be accepted as valid.
