Priochilus gloriosum (Cresson)

BOLIVIA: Caranavi Province , Rio Broncini; 19 January 2017; P. Moellmann. Host:? Phoneutria sp., immature female. The wasp examined the paralyzed wandering spider for>2 minutes as it laid dorsal side upward on a

large rock. She then grasped the patella of its 2 nd left leg with her mandibles and began dragging it backwards, dorsal side upward, switching to the patella of the left hindleg or left pedipalp when pulling the spider across large rocks ( Moellmann 2017).

COSTA RICA: Heredia Province, La Selva Biological Station, Research Swamp, along railing; 24 January 2013; E. Staats. Host: Cupiennius sp., immature. The wasp examined the paralyzed banana spider with her antennae as it laid dorsal side upward on the ground ( Staats 2013; E. Staats, La Selva Biological Station, Heredia Province, Costa Rica, 2017 pers. comm.) .

COSTA RICA: Limón Province, Pococí ; 18 August 2013 (posted 28 December 2019); Y. Bas (yvesbas). Host Psalmopoeus reduncus , subadult. The wasp dragged the paralyzed tarantula up the vertical surface of a tree, dorsal side upward, grasping its right foreleg with her mandibles ( Bas 2019) .

COSTA RICA: Puntarenas Province, Oso Peninsula, Cabo Matapalo; 5 July 2007; T. Christensen. Host:? Sparianthina sp., ( Sparassidae ), adult or subadult female. The wasp straddled the paralyzed huntsman spider as it laid on a leaf, dorsal side upward, grasping its left foreleg [patella] with her mandibles ( Christensen 2007; T. Christensen, Piedmont Ecological Services, Pennington, NJ, 2019 pers. comm.)

COSTA RICA: Puntarenas Province, Oso Peninsula, Campanario; 27 December 2012 – 11 January 2013; J. Marden. Host: Cupiennius cf getazi , adult or subadult female. The wasp dragged the paralyzed banana spider backwards on the ground and up a vertical surface, dorsal side upward, grasping its right pedipalp with her mandibles ( Marden 2012).

COSTA RICA: Puntarenas Province, Playa Uvita ; 10 March 2013; M. Kritzer. Host: Cupiennius sp. The wasp examined the paralyzed banana spider with her antennae as it laid dorsal side upward on the ground ( Kritzer 2013; M. Kritzer, Kissimmee, FL, 2017 pers. comm.) .

COSTA RICA: Puntarenas Province, Quepos, Manuel Antonio ; 8 May 2018; I. Montozzi (naxo.m91). Host: Unidentified species ( Ctenidae ), adult or subadult female. The wasp struggled to pull the paralyzed wandering spider through leaf litter on the ground, ventral side upward, grasping its right pedipalp with her mandibles ( Montozzi 2018) .

ECUADOR: Pastaza Province, Puyo ; 10 March 2016; A. Kay. Host: Unidentified harvestman (Order Opiliones ). The wasp held the somewhat macerated harvestman, ventral side upward, with her mandibles off the ground on a broad-leaved plant. The harvestman was probably used only for adult feeding ( Kay 2016; F. E. Kurczewski, 2019 pers. obs.) .

FRENCH GUIANA: Régina Commune, Kaw Mountains ; 9 November 2019; Stéphane. N. Host: Unidentified species ( Sparassidae ), adult or subadult female. The wasp straddled the paralyzed huntsman spider as it laid on a leaf, dorsal side upward, grasping the front of it with her mandibles ( Stéphane 2019).

GUYANA: Rupununi , Iwokrama Reserve; 21 October 2019; D. Ascanio. Host: Unidentified species ( Sparassidae ), adult or subadult female. A series of photographs shows the wasp standing by the paralyzed huntsman spider or holding it off a leaf, dorsal side upward, grasping its left pedipalp with her mandibles ( Ascanio 2019) .

PANAMA: Panamá Province, Chepo District, Cocobolo Nature Preserve ; June 2017; J. Lesperance. Host: Unidentified species ( Sparassidae ), adult or subadult female. The wasp held the paralyzed huntsman spider, ventral side upward, off the edge of vegetation by its left pedipalp with her mandibles ( Lesperance 2017) .

PERU: Loreto, Cumaceba Lodge, opposite embankment of Amazon River ; March 2005; W. Lamar. Host: Unidentified species ( Sparassidae ), subadult male. The wasp examined the paralyzed huntsman spider as it laid, dorsal side upward, on a broad leaf above the ground ( Fig. 8 , W. Lamar, Tyler, TX, 2018 pers. comm.) .

PERU: Madre de Dios, Tambopata National Reserve, Rio Inambari ; 29 August 2017; L. H. Baldoni. Host: Unidentified species ( Sparassidae ), adult or subadult female. The wasp stood beside the paralyzed huntsman spider as it laid on its left side on leaf litter on the ground ( Baldoni 2017) .

SURINAME: District of Brokopondo, Brownsberg Nature Park; 2010; K. Christenson. Host: Unidentified species ( Ctenidae ), adult or subadult female. The wasp examined the paralyzed wandering spider with her antennae as it laid dorsal side upward on the ground with its legs spread outward ( Christenson 2010).
