Pompilocalus nemequene Roig-Alsina View in CoL

COLOMBIA: Magdalena Department; 26 April 2013; M. T. Lesmes. Host: Unidentified species ( Ctenidae ), adult female. The wasp attempted to sting a wandering spider but the long legs of the spider lying on its back pushed the end of the wasp’s abdomen and sting away from its cephalothorax. Eventually, the wasp broke through the clutches of the spider’s legs, stung and paralyzed it. The wasp then spent several seconds examining the spider, still ventral side upward, with her curled apical antennal segments. The wasp grasped the base of the spider’s 3 rd right leg with her mandibles and, maintaining it ventral side upward, pulled it backwards underneath some leaves ( Lesmes 2013) .
