Original material: Herb. Linn. No. 403.8 ( LINN); [icon] in Sloane, Voy. Jamaica 1: 190, t. 121, f. 1. 1707 - Typotype: Herb. Sloane 3: 103 ( BM) - Voucher: Herb. Sloane 3: 102 ( BM).

Current name: Tillandsia recurvata (L.) L. ( Bromeliaceae ).

Note: Smith (in Proc. Amer. Acad. Arts 70: 208, 219. 1935), and followed by many later authors, treated material in the Sloane herbarium (BM-SL) as the type but this was not studied by Linnaeus and is not original material for the name.
