Caeculus andrei Lawrence, 1939: 540 .
Microcaeculus andrei: Franz, 1952: 102 .

Microcaeculus andrei and the following species, M. monticolus , are both endemic South African species ( Lawrence, 1939). Species of Microcaeculus are known to be predatory, feeding on Collembola ( Otto, 1993) , which they capture by lying in wait for prey to approach ( Krantz, 1978). Both species encountered in this study were rare.
