Hypoaspis paracasalis Ryke

Hypoaspis paracasalis Ryke, 1963: 4 .

Hypoaspis (Holostaspis) paracasalis : van Aswegen & Loots, 1970: 193; Karg, 1979: 98.

Specimens examined: Site 9434, 1 female.

H. paracasalis was described from forest litter and compost at Potchefstroom. The smooth rounded epistome and long narrow genital shield with a single pair of setae place this species in Karg's (1979) subgenus Hypoaspis (Holostaspis) . This species is obviously rare and unlikely to be of any significance in regulating populations of H. destructor .
