Gamasiphoides Womersley, 1956 View in CoL

Gamasiphoides View in CoL is a genus of 17 named species from New Zealand, Australia, Chile, Brazil, Argentina, and New Caledonia ( Womersley, 1956; Lee, 1970; Karg, 1976, 1993b, 1996). Loots (1979) recorded two undescribed species from South Africa, but these have remained undescribed, and may be the same as the two species described here. Almost nothing is known of the biology of this genus except that specimens are found in moss and leaf litter, where they are presumed to be predatory.
