Taxonomy. First record from Lebanon as Heptranchias perlo View in CoL by Lteif (2015: 61). Recent unpublished record from Tyre (10 August 2019) .

Distribution. Circumglobal in tropical through warm temperate sea (including Caribbean Sea, Mediterranean Sea).

Conservation. IUCN: Global (NT: 30 April 2003); Med. (DD: 25 March 2016). Capture and threats: FIT, FIB, unknown. Occurrence: Rare. High priority for conservation action.
