(1964: 13); subsequently recorded as Panturichthys fowleri (Ben-Tuvia) View in CoL by Mouneimné (1977: 61); as Panturichthys fowleri (Ben-Tuvia 1953) View in CoL by Mouneimné (2002: 81). Recent unpublished record from Batroun (6 May 2008). Material in collection: AUBM (OS3794), BMNH, MNHN and USNM.
Distribution. Eastern Mediterranean Sea endemic.
