Distribution. Mediterranean Sea, Sea of Marmara, eastern Atlantic: southern Spain and northern Morocco to Madeira.

Conservation. IUCN: Global (DD: 29 February 2008); Med. (DD: 29 February 2008). Capture and threats: Unknown. Occurrence: Very rare. Low priority for conservation action.
