Distribution. Red Sea, northwestern Indian Ocean: Gulf of Aden; eastern Mediterranean Sea (Red Sea immigrant).

Conservation. IUCN: Global ( LC: 2 March 2017). Capture and threats: Unknown. Occurrence: Very common. Non-indigenous species, no conservation action needed .
