(1964: 12); subsequently recorded as Saurida undosquamis (Richardson) View in CoL by Mouneimné (1977: 61); as Saurida undosquamis (Richardson 1848) View in CoL by Mouneimné (2002: 86–87); recently recorded as Saurida undosquamis View in CoL by Carpentieri et al. (2009: 3); as Saurida undosquamis View in CoL by Bariche et al. (2015: 2366); as Saurida macrolepis View in CoL by Fanelli et al. (2015: 2169). Material in collection: ANSP, AUBM, BMNH, MCZ, USNM and YPM (as S. undosquamis View in CoL ).

Distribution. Red Sea endemic; Mediterranean Sea (Red Sea immigrant).

Conservation. IUCN: Global ( LC: 28 June 2018). Capture and threats: Unknown. Occurrence: Very common. Non-indigenous species, no conservation action needed .
