Cincta View in CoL Group
The cincta View in CoL group is equivalent to the subgenus Sebessia ( Dominiak 2012) . Both sexes are readily distinguished from other species groups/subgenera of Dasyhelea View in CoL by their narrow elliptical frontal sclerite that often have lower marginal ear-like lobes. Males further differ from other groups/subgenera by the combination of the unique hyaline envelope that overlies their aedeagi and symmetrical gonocoxal apodemes and paramere. Females further differ from species in other groups/subgenera by their two well developed spermathecae that usually have hyaline surface punctations plus a 3rd small rudimentary spermatheca. Dominiak (2012) suggested that species in the Neotropical patagonica View in CoL group proposed by Díaz et al. (2010), also likely belong to the subgenus Sebessia , which also includes the holosericea group, because the male aedeagus of that species lacks a hyaline envelope and the female has two spermathecae.
