Xanthomantis Warren, 1909b , in Seitz, Die Gross-Schmetterlinge der Erde 3:18. Type-species: Acronycta cornelia Staudinger, 1888 [ Russia, Primorye terr.].

Synonymy: Trisuloides auct.

References. Nye 1975: 504; Poole 1989: 992 (as synonym of Trisulodes Butler, 1881)

Because of Poole (1989) incorrectly referred names Xanthomantis and Tambana as synonyms of Trisuloides , we include to this revision the data, diagnoses and illustrations of the species of Xanthomantis , in order to show the differences between these taxa. Herewith we treat Xanthomantis as Pantheinae View in CoL genus close to Tambana .

Diagnosis. Wingspan 43–44 mm. Closely related to Tambana . Antennae of male pectinate, labial palps short, compressed. Vein M 2 in hindwing well developed. Forewing blackish-grey with black dentate or waved pattern; hindwing yellow or orange-yellow; abdomen black. In male genitalia, uncus straight, moderately wide; juxta shield-like; valva sclerotised, moderately wide, constricted and pointed apically; costa well developed; sacculus narrow; harpe massive, straight, relatively short. Aedeagus massive; vesica tubular-bulbous, with 2–3 patches of moderate spine-like cornuti. In female genitalia, papillae anales wide, quadrangular; anterior and posterior apophyses on a wide base, equal in length; antrum wide, shallow; ductus bursae short, sclerotised; corpus bursae large, with sclerotisation in caudal part.

The genus includes two species, both distributed almost sympatrically in the Manchurian subregion of the Palaearctic and partially in the Oriental region.
