Rhinusa linariae View in CoL group
Remarks and comparative notes. This group is characterized by the shape of the rostrum which is strongly curved in lateral view ( Figs 10 and 11 View FIGURES 10‒22 ), and the shape of the tibiae, with the uncus of the metatibiae of the same length in both sexes, and with the outer margin distinctly curved outward apically ( Fig. 24 View FIGURES 23‒32 ), which induced Desbrochers des Loges (1893) to describe the new genus Entomoscelus , presently considered synonymous with Rhinusa ( Caldara 2001) . It is noteworthy that the latter character is actually possessed also by R. soluta (Faust, 1891) undoubtfully belonging to the R. neta group due to the peculiar pattern of the male genitalia.
Based on the shape of the penis ( Fig. 27 View FIGURES 23‒32 ) the R. linariae group is considered to be closely related to the R. antirrhini group ( Caldara et al. 2010). Preliminary molecular data seem to support this hypothesis ( Hernández-Vera et al. 2013).
