NOTES: This is a monospecific genus from the Arcyriaceae family, with the distinctive characters being, sessile fructifications, heaped, more or less united into a pseudo-aethalium, and the capillitium forming a coil, nearly smooth flattened tubular threads. It is named after Kumagusu Minakata, the Japanese myxomycete scholar who discovered the species. The type species is Minakatella longifila G. Lister (see notes under this species).
