NOTES: Lister (1894: 123) mentions two collections, one from Lyme Regis, Dorset and the other from Philadelphia,
with the same number (L:B.M.93). In BM we found 3 slides with this number, two from Lyme Regis, Dorset, May
1891. One of these is a slide mount with a few fragments of substrate bearing sporocarps. The third is from Philadelphia,
collected by G.A. Rex . We chose the material from Lyme Regis as the lectotype as it is in very good condition and is mentioned by Lister. In BM there are also various boxes with more material from Highcliff Lyme Regis, and from the same year and month as the lectotype, but different days in May. One or more may be duplicates of the lectotype.
These are BM 1400 ( BM001089795 ) labelled “leaf heap, Highcliff, Lyme Regis, leg. Lister, May 5. 1891 ”, BM 510 B
(BM001089796) with “Leaf heap, Orchard Highcliff, May 4.91” (there is another sample in this box from Chingford
J. Ross 1.35, XLVI: 112), and BM 510 D (BM001089797) with “Leaf heap, Orchard Highcliff, May 5.91”. There are no notes. Nannenga-Bremekamp (1975), transferred this species to the genus Collaria , but some authors do not accept this genus.
