NOTES: Lister (1925) states “The var. heterospora has been found repeatedly in the State of Colorado ”. In BM we found two boxes from Colorado ( USA) , WCS 793 , with reference to notebook “St.2. p. 178,179” (Sturgis 2. 178–179), that we designate here as the lectotype and another BM 3965 , from the same locality and date which we presume is a duplicate. The var. heterospora “different spore” is currently included in the extreme of the species concept .
